how to add a face texture to face mesh?

  • Hi Kavin,

You likely need to UV map the 3D model of the face to work nicely with the Face Texture. The Face Texture places the face as an oval shape in the center of a square texture. Your UV map of your 3D model should similarly map your UVs to an oval shape in the center of a square texture.

You can easily preview what a Face Texture looks like by creating a new Billboard, creating a new Face Texture and then assigning the Billboard's texture to your newly created Face Texture. This should give you an idea for what your 3D model's UVs should look like.

  • hi, Kavin Kumar

Please set the material you're using to use screen UV set :

    • First enable transformed UV2
    • Then set a base Texture UV to Transformed UV2
    • Use a Device Texture as base texture.

Hope it is what you were looking for!

I'm also looking to do the same thing.

Olha, your technique only projects the texture over, but doesnt respect the uv so if you created blend shapes or a rig it won't 'stick' to the mesh.  Spark AR for instance provides a uv'd face mesh and a facetexture asset you can use to texture a 3d model with the facetexture extracted. There is the 'face switcher' template for lense studio  that includes a prefab with a mesh that you cant actually export or customize. Odd that you cant use it for external editing? Are there any other resources that I am missing?
