  • I'm running into the same issue as well. I've followed all of the instructions found here:

    https://lensstudio.snapchat.com/guides/submission/creating-an-icon/

    • 320x320 Pixels
    • PNG

    I'm pretty sure it's a bug, here's a screen recording:

As you can see, I can load and "Save" the icon, but it doesn't update on the Product Info page or on device when I mirror the effect.

    System Info

Win 10 PC. Latest version of Snap Studio (1.7.0).

  • I may have found a work around for this(it worked for me anyway).  if you go into your project folder( file explorer), locate the default ICON file..and delete it.  re- open the lens studio file and select the appropriate icon you want.  it should now load.  it appears that if you save your project with the default icon, this is the only way to change it.

hope this works for yous….good luck

  • Thanks Chad. Had to open a new file, change the icon then re-import all my lso files into the new project. Your solution seems a lot easier. Thanks again

  • Thanks @Chad! I had a bit of trouble getting it to work because I still had Lens Studio open when I deleted the file. Here's a slightly more idiot-proof procedure.

    1. Save your project & close your Lens Studio (Don't skip this step)
    2. Locate your Lens Studio project.
    3. Delete the icon.png file
    4. Locate the new Icon image you want to use, rename it icon.png (I'm not sure if this step is necessary)
    5. Re-open Snap Lens Studio
    6. File > Project Info
    7. Click on Choose Icon
    8. Navigate to and select your new icon.png file.
    9. Choose Open
    10. Click on Save Icon
    11. Click on Apply
    12. Save your Lens Studio Project

  • Hey everyone! Unfortunately the solution above does not work for me. Does anyone know of another way for getting past this issue?

  • Hey G W, I've had this problem before, what i recommend is trying to make a new project and changing the logo, if it doesn't work let me know.

  • Thanks, Kaitlyn!

I haven't had any issues with it recently due to changing my operations. I've found it's a lot easier to just make the icon first when developing :) Thanks again!

  • Hey Folks.

I am having the same issues on WIN10.

It seems that LensStudio changes the rights of the icon.png to writeprotected.
    Kaitlyns solution works fine though.

    Thanks

  • Hi everyone. I have the same issue but even when I delete the Icon from the project files, or when I change the icon at the beginning it doesn't seem to work.

  • In that case,

Open up Lens Studio and click "Help", then "File a bug report"

Fill it out and they will get back to you
