project icon not changing
I am having an issue with the project icon not changing. I used the photoshop template to create a project icon. I followed ALL instructions to export the icon properly(320x320 PNG). I change the icon to the newly created one it shows that it is imported but it doesn’t actually change the default icon. When I select the edit icon, it shows the correct icon. But it doesn’t actually show as the project icon when I upload the project or in the tab in the top left hand of the screen in lens studio.
I found that even with the built in templates that the icon works until you click edit icon. Then go back to the project info tab and the icon changes back to the default icon...i didn’t have this problem previously. I opened my old project that had a working icon and it has the same problem as the built in templates.
am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug?
I'm having the same issue...one day it works the next it doesn't... think it could be a bug... Pls help
I'm running into the same issue as well. I've followed all of the instructions found here:
https://lensstudio.snapchat.com/guides/submission/creating-an-icon/
I'm pretty sure it's a bug, here's a screen recording:
As you can see, I can load and "Save" the icon, but it doesn't update on the Product Info page or on device when I mirror the effect.
System Info
Win 10 PC. Latest version of Snap Studio (1.7.0).
Hi All,
Thanks for recording and sharing this, we're investigating and will get back soon if with additional details.
Cheers,
Kaitlyn
I may have found a work around for this(it worked for me anyway). if you go into your project folder( file explorer), locate the default ICON file..and delete it. re- open the lens studio file and select the appropriate icon you want. it should now load. it appears that if you save your project with the default icon, this is the only way to change it.
hope this works for yous….good luck
Thanks Chad. Had to open a new file, change the icon then re-import all my lso files into the new project. Your solution seems a lot easier. Thanks again
Thanks @Chad! I had a bit of trouble getting it to work because I still had Lens Studio open when I deleted the file. Here's a slightly more idiot-proof procedure.
Hey everyone! Unfortunately the solution above does not work for me. Does anyone know of another way for getting past this issue?
Hey G W, I've had this problem before, what i recommend is trying to make a new project and changing the logo, if it doesn't work let me know.

Thank you! I'll try that out soon.
Hey G W,
Cheers,
Kaitlyn
Thanks, Kaitlyn!
I haven't had any issues with it recently due to changing my operations. I've found it's a lot easier to just make the icon first when developing :) Thanks again!
Hey Folks.
I am having the same issues on WIN10.
It seems that LensStudio changes the rights of the icon.png to writeprotected.
Kaitlyns solution works fine though.
Thanks
Hi everyone. I have the same issue but even when I delete the Icon from the project files, or when I change the icon at the beginning it doesn't seem to work.
In that case,
Open up Lens Studio and click "Help", then "File a bug report"
Fill it out and they will get back to you
Thanks.
