transitions

  • Hi Marco!

    There are many ways to make a transition. Here is a couple of them:

    1. Using several images on top of one another, you can use the Tween Alpha script to control their opacity and make them “vanish” one by one. To do so, create a Tween Manager (Add New -> Helper Scripts -> Tween Manager) and create a set of images.

      Assign materials with your textures to the images. Add a script component to each of the images. Add the Tween Alpha script to each of the script components and set Time and Delay parameters to make the images fade one after another.

      If you want to control when to run the Tween Alpha scripts you can use this script snippet

      global.tweenManager.startTween( script.objectWithTweens, "box_move" );

      Please, look at this page for further help

    2. Creating a custom shader that takes two textures between which a transition is needed and an animated map (which is just a black and white animated texture as well). Create a Graph Empty shader (in the Resource panel: Add New -> Material -> Graph Empty) and build the following graph network in it

      Select the shader and assign your textures and animated map in the Inspector panel to the corresponding slots. The shader is now ready to be applied to an image. Additionally, here is a script that shows how to play animated texture at a specific moment:

      //@input Component.Image image
      var provider = script.image.mainMaterial.mainPass.map.control;
      provider.play(1, 0);

      In the Inspector panel, assign an image, with the shader made above, to the Image parameter of this script and set script execution parameter to Tapped. Then every time Lens Studio detects a tap on the screen it will play the animation.

    Hope it helps!
