I have also that problem in some meshes with 3ds Max. If I reduce the polycount to 60k in a external program and send it to Lens Studio is OK. If I send the same reduced mesh to 3ds Max and export it to Lens Studio then it says it goes above the limit. Because some reason Max is adding more polys, even the polycount in Max info has not changed. I wonder if this has anything to do with the tangents, smoothing groups, normals etc. But the settings I use for exporting from Max are the ones recommended by Lens Studio help.
Hi Hammad,
In your FBX export settings in Maya, do you have "Split per-vertex normals" selected? If so, can you try exporting with that option deselected? Let me know if importing your mesh continues to cause errors.
Best,
Peter
