Keyword Detection - Using Microphone with Audio

  • Hi JT ,

[ Inspector panel >Audio Component ] I would suggest that you try to lower the volume of background music to minimums and check if that solution works for you 🤔 just to avoid any interfere with mic , so the keyword detection can pick up the words. ( I didn’t try this before it’s just logical theory )

Also, it’s good if someone can pass this point to Snapchat development team 👉 to add music control feature in Snapchat App .. it’s very useful feature to add background music with volume controller .

    Cheers ,

  • Hi Ghaith - Thank you very much for responding to my inquiry and sharing info on a possible solution. So yea, I tried lowering the volume to .10 but unfortunately it didn't work. The odd thing is that on my computer (Surface Laptop 3) I'm able to play audio and use my microphone using Lens Studio. In this case, the keywords are detected perfectly even while playing music at .90.

I know it's not my phone because the same lens was pushed to it without audio and worked perfectly in detecting my spoken words. I'll try posting this same question in the Facebook group page to attract a variety of possible solutions.

  • Have you try to add two icons that when you press on “ music will start to play “ and when you press back on it will stop .. by this idea you add these two features to the lens you’re making .. hope this solve your issue

  • Also you may be able to make scripts that when you start using microphone the music will be off and once you stop music will automatically plays :)

    Good luck

  • Hi dr1hsn - Thank you for the advice! Hmm I like the 2nd option using the script but not sure how this code would look like.

  • Yeah, This option is not available on Mac. As I am also using Mac. So for the audio recording we use third party app when we are making video about small hand grips. You could use any third party app for audio recording. And then combine video and audio through editing it.
