Snap Camera has taken over "command-N"!?
A couple of weeks ago, "command-N" stopped working in (what seemed like) all my apps and in the Finder. (Obviously, I'm using Mac OS. Version 12.0.1 on a 2018 Mac Mini, to be precise.)
Then Just a few minutes ago, I realized that "command-N" was actually working in Snap Camera, to turn the current lens on and off. It does this no matter what app is currently to the fore. As soon as I turn off Snap Camera, I get control of "command-N" back in all my other apps. When I launch Snap Camera again, it reclaims control of the shortcut. I don't even need a shortcut to turn lenses off and on, and have no idea what I did to make that happen.
Before you ask, yes, I checked Snap Cameras preferences, and no hotkeys are added for anything. I even clicked on the empty box for "Turn Lens On/Off," and then clicked "Save," but nothing changed.
Any idea what I can do to stop this? Needless to say, not being able to use "command-N" on a Mac is incredibly inconvenient!
Hi @...
You could open Snap Camera preferences and remove or change the hotkey

Thank you for responding, Olha. As I mentioned towards the end of my post, I did check that setting and found that now hotkey was assigned to it. I even tried assigning command-N and then deleting it, but nothing changed.
I have almost the same problem. Shift-n will not capitalize to the letter N when I have Snap Camera on my macbook pro. If I remove the snap camera app, I am able to capitalize the letter n with Shift-n.
