Using Snap Camera with no internet connection
Hi
I'm creating a projected effect for a pantomime. I've been playing with Snap Camera and Lenses and have figured out that I can do what I need using the windows built in camera application and feeding that to the projector. I've been doing this on my personal laptop but for the production we'll be switching to a different computer with a webcam attached.
The PC we'll be using does not have an internet connection (and for various reasons we don't want it to ever have one)
I can download the Snap Camera application and also (on my laptop) create any lenses I might need. Then I can copy them to the offline PC by USB stick.
My questions are
1. can I run Snap Camera without an internet connection?
2. how do I tell Snap Camera where to find and Lenses I have saved to the PC
Thanks for your help
Snap Camera downloads lenses in a packaged format from Snap's servers; you can't directly open Lens Studio files with Snap Camera.
You could try opening your desired lens through Snap Camera on your laptop and then copying the lenses from there to your other computer. The packaged lenses are found in AppData\Local\Snap\Snap Camera\cache\lenses on Windows, no idea about Mac. I also have no idea if this would work.
Another alternative would be to connect your other computer to the internet, download the lenses, then disconnect it from the internet.
