Are Blender "Vertex Groups" supported?

  • The shape keys are what Lens Studio will be using, but please note that they will not export if you have a subdivision surface modifier active on your model.

  • The shape keys exporting and I am able to see the animation inside of Lens Studio. I'm not using a subdivision modifier.

The the vertex groups the shape keys are assigned to do not seem to be getting applied.

  • I don't know if you are new to blender but Vertex Groups don't really have much to do with Shape Keys unless you are creating Shape Keys with bones but the Vertex Group is usually for weight for the shape keys, ill show you what I import to lens studio which usually works fine with the formate FBX.

But Lens studio Face Expression template doesn't really work with vertex groups just Shapekeys because with a shape key you are feeding it data from start to end position with a vertex group you are just selecting what belongs to each group.

    What i do:

If you need more help just reply and send screenshots or a small video of what not seems to be working in the template and ill help you out.

  • I've been using vertex groups so I can make changes to both sides of the face, then inside the Shape Key, I add the Vertex Group to one side of the face for Shape Keys that only apply to one side.

  • Okay I think I understand have you tried searching it up on google after all it is a blender problem.

So basically your vertex groups you made for both sides aren’t applying to each shape key for each side?
