Move 2D Image with Face Expressions
Hi,
I was wondering if there was a template or any way to drive your facial expressions to move tracked points of a 2D image? So a face in the image will reenact my own facial expressions?
Similar to motion capture or lip sync animation but can be used with a real life photo instead of an animated object
Thanks
Hey J
Do you mean something like the Paper Head template?
Kind of I guess, but not with separate parts but rather with one image of a (human not character) face?
If you are talking about transferring your facial expressions to some arbitrary face in an image that would be tricky. Potentially you could map the target face onto a 3D object and then drive the facial expressions using the Face Expressions template.
I did create a lens where I took snapshots of my facial expressions and use those to select the corresponding emoji expression in this lens, but I'm not sure what kind of look you are going for.
Also be aware of the Community Guidelines. Driving someone else's face with your own might run afoul of some of the guidelines (impersonation, bullying) and be grounds for removal of your lens (depending on what the exact contents of your lens are).
Thank you Mike. How would I go about mapping the target face onto a 3D object to then drive the expressions to? Is there a template for this?
There is not a template for this.
If you want the target face plastered on top of your face, you could start with a face mask or the face mesh. I've seen mixed results of this working.
If you want the target face to maintain its place in the image and be controlled by yours, that will be more complex. I've never tried it, so I can't say what the best approach would be. It'll definitely take some experimentation.
