Filming with lenses

  • Okay, so im assuming noone has any experience capturing 4K quality with a Snapchat lens except the Snapchat Team, so how do I go about asking them directly? is this the only way to post in the forum?

If anyone has asked a question directly to the SnapTeam another way pleae let me know. i will try logging a bug report to get this question answered because it's a simple factual question.

  • Gee I appreciate that, I had no idea of such an email in existence! I have now emailed them and if they ever respond with details, I'm happy to share, as it should encourage people to make professional level films with lenses. At the moment, I see lenses as quite.... let's just say it's still quite new and novel, but there's nothing to say that they couldn't be taken more seriously/artistically as a creative medium, so for that, it's good to know what equipment they used, so better quality films can be made.

    Cheers!

  • Hey All,

So I found on Instagram the Lens Studio promo film and they list all the creators and producers so I was able to ask people directly through that channel, and it appears they shot the footage of the dancers first using cinema cameras, and then mapped the lenses on. So my understanding is that they brought footage into the preview video section of Lens Studio. Because if you map onto video directly, sometimes you get grainy lines from the screen surface.
