This one is more for the Snapchat Team who made the promotional video we see, with all the amazing dancers and selected face lenses, the final take being a person who turns into an elephant..
So.... my question is about the technical setup behind the filming.
We can import preview videos into Lens Studio up to a certain file size, which is related to the resolution, right...? So we can get a crisp clean projection using that method, but the export quality will have its limit, compared to 4K quality for example.
So how did the team get high-res video with the lenses I wonder. I guess my question is also to anyone who has tried to film lenses and if they had bouht any particular software that links a video camera to your webcam, and recognizes it as your webcam for instance, or anyone who has experience here.
Recently I had to import a hi-res video into separate layers to project individually in Lens Studio. You can imagine how time consuming it was doing 150 odd images.. and that was for a short video.
I'd love any descriptions of experiments, any wisdom in this area, would be most appreciated.
Of course filming directly from the phone or ipad is possible, obviously, but then we are constrained by the dimensions of the device. since snaps are done in portrait mode only...
