uneven application of copyright and lenses taken down
Hi, recently i posted a among us lens, at the time i knew it was gonna get taken down, i made it for fun and practice, but after i posted it i noticed other lens creators, an olc and other creators posted a similar lens. days later, mine was taken down while theirs are still up and unless they are all sponsored content mine shouldn't have been the only one taken down, (i'm not throwing shade i am confused)
my lens^^
his lens^^
!!TW!!
this is far from an isolated case, another popular lens "its the for me" was taken down weeks after posting at over 70 million, while other creators who have made the identical lens, have put, "it's the nicotine addiction" or its the "not eating" or other problematic things and are still live.
my lens recipts^^^
^^ ones that are still up NOT MINE
or ANOTHER example a lens with zero copyrighted content, was taken down right as it was starting to blow up and put back up 4 months later. *posted end of march* pay attention to the timestamp. and right now its back up.
or when i made another popular tik tok trend into a lens the vogue lens a lens known by the lens creator nicholas dominici (again no shade he is incredibly talented) i made the lens in may and in June it started to take off with the start of the vogue trend, then he posted his and its still up to this day.
None of my lenses included the word lens so I am unsure as why they are trademarked by snapchat.
I have tried to get in contact with someone at snap but haven't had a response. losing some of my most popular lenses weeks after i post them for no apparent reason and the unequal application of copyright is really discouraging and extremely frustrating.
thanks -Alice :)
This is definitely a big issue, hopefully one of the lens studio devs or admins sees this.
Hey, Alice so I actually created a 3d model among us lens about a week and a half ago that was taken down almost instantly. I expected it as the assets are trademarked by innersloth. As for the other lenses snap will take them down as they see them, or if you want to report them they will take them down faster. I believe once you have one taken down snap will look through your other lenses to make sure nothing else violates the guidelines. As for the snap trademarks, make sure your previews don't have "add me and your username" in them. That is another thing Snapchat takes lenses down for. As for Nick's, I'm not too sure, that's something snap would have to respond too.
Happy Creating,
Ryan
Hey alice.atz
If also noticed this. I made a Louis Vuitton lens and it was taken down, even tough i created the texture by myself. And the day after i saw a similar lens which was trending. I dont wont to say against these creators, but seems kinda unfair among other smaller creators🙈
Cheers,
