[Tutorial] Skull Inside (Ocular Planes)
In this forum tutorial, I will be showing you how to make a skull or any object appear to be inside your head. Also known as ocular planes.
Check out my lens here as and example: https://www.snapchat.com/unlock/?type=SNAPCODE&uuid=1cd7b358661544929ed4dbf610f1feb9&metadata=01

The first thing you are going to want to do is grab a 3d model, as long as its copyright-free or you design it yourself you can use it in your lenses. Once you have one open up a new project in lens studio and upload your model. Go to the objects panel and add the head binding, drag, and drop your 3d model under the head binding and then move and scale it so it's in the position you want it to be in. For example, I lined my skull up with the eyes and nose so that it looked like it was really your skull. Make sure to delete the head ocular.
Now that your 3d model is set up we can start to work on the ocular planes. Start by adding a plane that takes up a good amount of space on the lens, this will be the plane that shows and gives depth to your model.
Once done click the material section in the inspector panel, hit the plus button, click component defaults, and hit image. The go-to the resources panel, click the material that says image and upload your own image in the inspector panel.
Next, make two other planes and move them slightly in front of your 3d model. These planes will make the backplane disappear and allow you to see through it. The lens should look like this.
Next, go to the Resources panel and click the material library button, then click refraction. Then apply refraction to both of your planes in front. Go to resources panel, click on the refraction material, and push all the sliders to 0. You now have a fully head bound ocular plane lens!
Happy Creating!
