Attaching bones in 3d model to face landmarks
Hi!
I am trying to add a 3d "beard" object to the user's face in lens studio.
I know that you can attach certain objects to landmarks on the face (using the new face landmark template), but is it possible to attach bones (all within thew same 3D model) to landmarks on the face in order to rig a beard to the user's face?
I am looking to attach parts of the beard to the jaw and chin so that it moves while the user speaks/opens their mouth.
I am hoping to avoid blendshapes for this -- is there any way to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hey Rhea,
The best of doing this is to separate the beard mesh into to part.
One is mustache part and another one is the rest.
Then you can rig the mesh and make sure to not to rig hierarchy based. All the joints should be on the root. Then make sure your joint is place kinda similar to the chart:
Then you can attach each joint to a land mark.
Let me know if that helps.
Have fun creating lenses.
Cheers,
Amir.
