problems with Snap Camera and Streamlabs OBS

  • hi, Анна

Could it be possible that your webcam is being used by a program other than Snap Camera?

If not try restarting your computer or unplugging your webcam, check configuration settings in snap camera and obs. And if nothing works reinstall snap camera.

  • Anna,

    Thanks for the report!

Does preview in Snap Camera UI itself work OK for you?

    Thank you,
    Pavel

  • Hi,

I'm having the same problem in discord, It was working when I first installed it but now its not and only shows the logo instead of my cam, however the camera works when I'm recording video though snap cam? its very odd.

I reinstalled and that fixed it, but I'm worried that its going to stop working again next time I try to use it. Any fixes recommended?

  • Hello,

I have the same issue, but this is happening to me while using OBS. Seems like Snap Camera gets disabled sometimes, and I made sure no other program is using the camera.

I reported this as a bug, hopefully it can be solved.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

I have the same issue, and this is my scenario:
Snap camera works fine up until I open OBS, then it freezes and I get either a black screen or the snap camera "logo" where my cam should be. The snap camera preview is also frozen. The only way to get my snap camera to run again, is by unplugging the camera from the usb port.

BTW, I am using a CamLink 4k to connect my camera to my computer.

It only fails when i launch OBS.

There is no other app using the camera or snap camera

  • Had the same problem, here is a fix.

Open task manager and close the app, because camera is still working with a filter on...

Open the obs, streamlabs, zoom etc first and only then the snap camera.

You need to open it in this order because snap camera is using snap camera for some reason... So you need to take that snap camera first... xD

    That's it.

Close the snap later if you want, because the filter will be on even if you close it.

If you want to use the camera without filter, you will need to close the snap with task manager again. (Or turn the filter off in snap camera)
