"Unsupported codec with id 28" Webcam Error

Hi,

Has anyone else encountered the following error in the logger?

"Unsupported codec with id 28"


I get the error and an all-black camera feed when I attempt to use my Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920:


If I elect to use "Snap Camera" (which I also have installed), my camera feed passes through without issue.

Even if I quit Snap Camera and restart Lens Studio the issue recurs.

Lens Studio version 2.3.1

Win 10 v1909

Note, I was was able to successfully use this webcam on this PC over a year ago, but I've since done a reinstall of windows and updated to the latest version of Lens Studio. Not sure what may be causing the issue.

    Same Problem here.

    The webcam has actually been sold quite a bit

    Exactly the same camera, exactly the same error. It worked before.

    Disconnect and reconnect the USB fixed the problem :)

    The problem continues, Disconnect and then connect the camera not work

    open ~/Library/Preferences/Snap/Lens\ Studio/ %LOCALAPPDATA%\Snap\Lens Studio Copy Text
  • Press ReturnEnter to run the command. The Lens Studio folder will automatically open
  • Prepare to upload your files: zip the "Log" Folder by right-clicking and choosing "compress."
    Locate the Log.txt file right above it.

Unfortunately, it's likely due to the operating system or hardware you're using – since they don't meet the system requirements for Lens Studio.
