Dynamic response to lighting
I was reading this interesting feature in AR Core where they take the light amount seeing by the lens, and then use that to dynamically light the AR model. Here's the article.
Question: could we get camera info into Lens Studio somehow and use it to light the AR model correctly? (or an approximation?) If so, How?
Thanks!
Hi Pierre,
Thanks for the cool suggestion! This is currently not possible but we've added it to our feature requests.
Cheers,
Neha
Hi Neha, light occlusion makes 2d or 3d objects more integrated with the environment. As an alternative, I was thinking maybe I can put softer lights around the subject and a larger floor with shadow catcher active with a darker shadow. Currently, this is the look I am aiming (this is ARCore):

Thank you for replying to this.
I am missing this feature from the camera reception directly, to make even more amazing AR. I expect to be uploading my first lens in one more week. Currently, I am animating using Blender. I have some previous experience with JavaScript, and will evangelize the use of Lens Studio whenever and wherever possible. :)
You guys are awesome, templates are really helpful.
Maybe this could help you :

Hi One More Admin, thank you for your reply: Your post is about reflection, and I need occlusion from the lens light input. I referenced the API in the original post (Android). I hope this could be integrated in Lens Studio.
I am really glad to have progress on the interactive playback of the animation action tracks from the animator mixer with all the forum feedback and the templates.
Thank you for your support.
I am working with Blender. I am a Blender Foundation Certified Trainer. So far Lens Studio works amazingly well. Let me know if you'd need help to update your Blender input/output guide since version 2.83 will be a solid release as Long term support in May of this year.
Best regards.
