"From Camera" Reflections
FeaturedHere’s a quick tip on getting realistic reflections on your 3D models!
First, create a shiny texture for your model. Make sure the roughness of your texture is set to a low value. Additionally, you can increase your metallic values to give more defined reflections. You can find more information on how to create textures here.
Next, import your textures into Lens Studio and create a PBR material. Apply the PBR material to your model and assign the textures to the appropriate properties. Once, your PBR material is set up, check the From Camera property. Checking this will disable environment map reflections and use your camera feed as the source of reflection instead. Additionally, you can disable the Direct Lights property. This will prevent light objects from casting specular highlights on your model, giving you a more realistic lighting setup. You can find more information on materials here.
Thank you so much for this post! Is there any way to get the lighting itself from camera?
If I have the Ar model to be active with indoor lighting, the environment light should be dim. If I go to the park and have the AR model to pick up the camera light from the environment is should be brighter, and cast its corresponding shadow intensity from it. How possible is to accomplish that in the current Lens Studio version?
