Vertex animation ft. Normal Map

  • Hey Nicolas,

Are you using Cinema 4D for exporting Normal map? If you're using Cinema 4D they are having a problem with exporting which only caches the first frame normal. What I did to fix the problem was took my FBX to Maya and then re-export from maya with vertex animation.

If not can you please share your project file so I can take a look as well as FBX?

    Cheers,

    Amir.

  • Hello Amir,

Thanks for answering my question !

No, i am actually using 3DS max for the export, and the vertex animation is perfect, and looping on 30seconds on Lens Studio.

Just when adding normal map, it blinks on one frame ( one frame normal, and the rest of the frame is shit haha) and i guess it has to be correct on the first frame

  • hmm,

    That's interesting!

Can you try to delete remove that frame from your animation and see if that fixed the problem?

You can do it in Lens Studio.

Just click on your root object that has the Animation Mixer component.

Then select the Clip view button in the Animation Mixer.

Select your layer and change the From Frame to a frame after that frame which is not working and see if it's working or no?

You can also share the project file here so I can take a look at it!

    Cheers,

    Amir.
