Which computer is the best for creating lenses?

  • Jamie,

Thanks for sharing your feedback! Any modern MacBook Pro with discrete GPU and 16 Gb RAM will definitely deliver absolutely comfortable work in Lens Studio, there is no need to go desktop. If you decide to buy desktop, recommendations are the same - discrete GPU and 16 Gb RAM. Photoshop and Lightroom aren't 3D software, that's why they have lower recommended system requirements.

Have you send a crash through embedded mechanism in Lens Studio - after a crash and the app relaunch dialog "Report an Issue" is shown. It might be some specific problem, not just MacBook Air, Lens Studio should work at least stably on all supported configurations. Have you experienced similar problems in older Lens Studio apps?

    With best regards,

  • Jamie,

What exact model of MacBook Pro do you use? By overheat do you mean just temperature of laptop or that software starting to work with some errors?

    Thank you,

  • Lenses for a while now, but I’ve noticed that my computer begins to heat up after a while and Lens Studio quits due to “unknown issues”, and I have to start it again. Is this because I use a laptop (I’m on my MacBook Air) and that kind of software is to much for it.
