Hello everybody!

 

I am trying to have a filter which is just the playing of a video. So, can I instead of project a 2d object, project a video file in a face-area?

    Hi Karel, 

    Lenses have to use the Snapchat Camera in order for Snap to effectively moderate Snap submissions, and there can't be a full-screen takeover with the video. If you'd like the video to play only within the face, you can use Segmentation. Check out the segmentation guide here. If you would like to create a Lens which tracks the user's face to content in a video, you can create a Face in Video Lens.

    Dear Neha,

     

    Thanks a lot for the info! The segmentation template was indeed just what I needed... It's all a bit new for me ;)

    I just had one more question; If I have some video-files (.MOV, .AVI or whatever), is there a way to play these inside lens studio? So add them inside my resources and maybe use them to play a video-file as background etc...? Does the video-file need another format for Lens to recognize it? Or is this just impossible?

    Hi, Karel!

    Lens Studio supports videos with the following requirements:

    • File format - MP4
    • Codec - H.264 / AVC 
    • Resolution - Your video resolution needs to be greater than 16 x 16 and smaller than 1280 x 1280. In both dimensions resolution needs to be multiples of 16
    • Size - Less than 10 MB

    You can refer to this guide to import and use video as a texture

    open ~/Library/Preferences/Snap/Lens\ Studio/ %LOCALAPPDATA%\Snap\Lens Studio Copy Text
  • Press ReturnEnter to run the command. The Lens Studio folder will automatically open
  • Prepare to upload your files: zip the "Log" Folder by right-clicking and choosing "compress."
    Locate the Log.txt file right above it.
