Lens Studio for Windows 10 crashes whenever I try to open or save a project

I saw other similar posts that suggest to install Visual C++ redist packages which I did. I also confirm that my user name does not contain any special characters. I tried to move the project to C:\SnapTest but still, every time I try to save and the saving dialogue comes out, Studio Lens crashes. I had to duplicate another project to have a starting point but I just cannot save anything but the scripts that I edit externally.

Trying to open a project leads to the same story. I tried to reinstall Lens Studio with no luck.

There's nothing meaningful recorded to any of Lens Studio's log files.

I'm on Windows 10 on a GYGABYTE laptop with Nvidia 1070.

Is there a solution or a workaround for this?? This really stops me from working.

  • Copy and paste this text into your TerminalCommand Window
    open ~/Library/Preferences/Snap/Lens\ Studio/ %LOCALAPPDATA%\Snap\Lens Studio Copy Text
  • Press ReturnEnter to run the command. The Lens Studio folder will automatically open
  • Prepare to upload your files: zip the "Log" Folder by right-clicking and choosing "compress."
    Locate the Log.txt file right above it.
