How I use ProCreate for iPad to make face mask lenses ridiculously easily.
FeaturedHi all!
I wanted to pop by and share one of my favorite lens making techniques. This one works really well for artists! I draw many of my face mask lenses by hand in ProCreate on my iPad with an Apple Pencil.
The process of turning the drawing into a lens is a ridiculously easy idea that I came up with and today I'm going to share with this simple example!
My process starts with a reference photo. For this I like to find a good stock photo of a model with clearly defined features, looking straight at the camera, with a fairly symmetrical face. This is an example that I often use as a reference photo:
You can use this process with any editor that allows you to work in layers. I use ProCreate for iPad.
First I import the reference photo into ProCreate, and then working in a separate layer I draw my design over top of the face.
Then, I export *just* the drawing layer(s) as a transparent PNG.
In Lens Studio, I use the Photo template to turn the drawing into a lens. First, change the example mask texture from the template to your reference photo, and use the "detect face" button to set all the points in the correct places.
Next, change the mask texture to the drawing layer. The points you set on the reference photo should line up with the drawing.
...And that's it! The drawing should now be lined up on the face. You may have to tweak the points a little to get it exactly how you want it (I'm too much of a perfectionist with that sometimes), but typically it's ready to go after just those couple of steps!
I hope you find this helpful - would love to see your creations if you do try this method!

This is a great work tip. I was very helpful because I was troubled with the adaptation of the face mask. Thank you very much.😋
Wow, that's awesome! After all this time I didn't even realise there is a "Detect Face" button. I just changed each dot individually. Thanks for making my life so much easier haha.
Thank you so so much!!
Does meshbuilder fetch and put to a file and then load the graphics processor? Is there a manner to flow polys immediately to the processor in the API for tablet.
