How to change the background in game (high score) template.

  • Hi,

The High Score template uses Prefabs to populate the background. See this guide for a general overview of how prefabs work.

In the High Score template, instances of the background prefab are spawned in automatically. You can find an instance of the background prefab under LevelChunk System > Level Chunk [EDIT_AND_APPLY].

You can enable this SceneObject while you're working on it to make it easier to visualize. You might see an extra copy of it in the Preview panel, but you can ignore that for now since we'll disable it later.

Make whatever changes you want to the prefab, but try to keep the width as close to the original as possible. Otherwise you might start seeing gaps or overlaps between the different "chunks" being spawned. This is because LevelChunkSpawner is set up to spawn the level chunks at a rate based on their specific size. If you want a different size, you can try tweaking the spawner's settings to make it work for you.

When you're done with making changes, make sure you click the "Apply" button on the root object (Level Chunk [EDIT_AND_APPLY]), then disable it so it doesn't show up in the Preview panel. The next time you click "Reset" in the preview panel, your changes will appear in the game.

Let me know if you need any more help with this!
