Clarification regarding updated Snap Lenses and Snap Camera

Good Day,

I have two questions.

First, what is the minimum scans, views and shares before it can appear in Snap Camera? 

Second, I would like to ask how long does it take for a snap lens that is already appearing in Snap Camera to reflect updates. For example, I have published a lens that I can access in Snap Camera but I need to update it and therefore will be in review. How long will it take after the update has been approved before the changes reflect on Snap Camera?

    Hey Pj,

    Currently there are no specific numbers to hit for a Lens to appear in Snap Camera; you simply need a combination of things: a live Lens; popularity; and adherence to the Lens Studio Submission Guidelines. Every time you update a Lens it goes through another review that could take up to a day to finish. That said, we are looking to change this early next year so that any Lens you create or update will be searchable!

    Hi Pj,

    Good News! You can now unlock a Lens by its Lens Link in the latest version of Snap Camera. This means, you can find your Lens by pasting the Lens link into the search bar in Snap Camera as soon as the Lens is live.

    open ~/Library/Preferences/Snap/Lens\ Studio/ %LOCALAPPDATA%\Snap\Lens Studio Copy Text
  • Press ReturnEnter to run the command. The Lens Studio folder will automatically open
  • Prepare to upload your files: zip the "Log" Folder by right-clicking and choosing "compress."
    Locate the Log.txt file right above it.
