Newly "Live" lens from Studio not showing on the Snap Camera search?

  • Hi Adam,

Thanks for creating Lenses on Lens Studio and being excited to share your work with the world! In order for a Lens to appear on your creator profile and Snap Camera, you need it to be a couple of things: live, popular, and adhering to the Lens Studio Submission Guidelines (so that the profile page is appropriate for the public).  In general to add a Lens, I recommend you boost it's popularity by posting it on the forum or other social sites as recommended in this guide.

For your specific case, it looks like your Lenses need to be shared more to be seen.

  • Thanks Kaitlyn- Not really interested in having a popular lens, I just wanted it to use on internal company video calls as a bit of fun, so just needed access myself to be able to use it.  It is now findable through search, just took a fair while to go through.

    Thanks

  • Hello Adam,

I have the same problem, how many hours to have your Lens Findable in Snap Camera?

    Thanks

  • Hey Romuald,

I answered your offline post about this, but will re-iterate it's the same case as above (i.e. it needs to be shared more to be seen in Snap Camera).

  • I am having the same issue and I find the solution to be a bit goofy. I don't understand why we are able to share and use our custom lenses in Snapchat, but it requires popularity in order to use our custom lens in Snap Camera? Many people like myself want to be able to create custom lenses for their own personal use. Secondly your answer about when they will show up in the search is fairly vague, how many shares does it take before there are enough for it to show up? Please keep in mind not everyone is making lenses just for the community, there are many who want them for personal use.

  • Hi - I am also looking at getting ones published and available in the search without the need to share them. The lenses I am creating are for one time use and experiences that are unique to what we do - and we would not want to share these publicly in order for them to be come 'popular'.

Is there no feature to pull through the lens via SnapID?

Seems pretty redundant allowing streamers to create custom snaps if they need to share them with others to get them popular enough to use them on their own streams...

    Please find a solution -

  • Great news Kaitlyn,

Have you got a schedule you can publish or an ETA on this?

    Thanks,

  • Hey Richard,

Can you explain a bit more your ideal use case so I can better understand the feature you're requesting?

    Thanks,

  • Kaitlyn,

We are just looking to be able to create a lens in lens studio and be able to immediately import it into snap camera without having to share it on the network. Personally I want to use my logo as a backdrop to my stream. I am able to immediately use one I create in snapchat, but there is no way to bring it into snap camera without getting people to use it first. I created a lens over a month ago and I still am unable to use it in snap camera. That is where the issue is.

    Thanks,

    William

  • Yes @Kaitlyn,

We just want the ability to publish the lenses and get them into snap camera without the need for them to be popular.

I don't mind if they are public in our case, but at the minute 99% of what we create never actually appears.

The path of least resistance for this would be the ability to publish and index the lenses without the need for them to be popular and also add the ability to add via snapcode directly into snap camera.

Are you guys working on a fix for this at the minute, we have a few projects going on here which we are relying on this being fixed for and would be nice to get an update.

    Thanks,

    Rich

  • Hey Richard,

Allowing creators to express themselves on our products is something we're committed to, and while I don't have a specific date, we do have plans to allow our users to more easily find their Lenses in Snap Camera (without the popularity factor).

  • Hi Kaitlyn, same question as above. Any progress on being able to access lenses we've created via Snap Camera?
Seems odd that its a problem for them to be accessible.

  • Hi All,

Good News! You can now unlock a Lens by its Lens Link in the latest version of Snap Camera. This means, you can find your Lens by pasting the Lens link into the search bar in Snap Camera as soon as the Lens is live.

    Download it here!

  • Hi,

Today i made a lens for my friend and i to use. I published it and it was in review. After a few minutes it said the snap lens was live. I downloaded the snapcode and tried that but it didnt work. I then tried searching into snapchat lens section. But i still cannot find my lense.

Will it take a few hours to completely upload? Thank you.

  • Hi @... and @... - I created my first lens. It is live. So why can I not find it in Snap Camera? You claim that I should be able to find it by searching using the link (which I obtained from Lens Studio via the "My Lenses" window and downloading the snap code - the link was in the file info (and briefly showed in a new browser window)). I additionally tried the lens name the lens ID as search terms. I most definitely installed both snap camera and lens studio after your post from March 18 2019 above. So why can I not use the lens I created? Again, it's live. It's activated. Do not promote is truned off. How the heck do you use a lens you create in Snap Camera?
