Official Lens Creator Questions

  • Hey Callum,

Thanks for your interest in becoming an Official Lens Creator! When we select Official Lens Creators (OLCs) we consider the applicant as a whole looking at each Lens and its individual quality, their talents, their potential, their community activity, and more. One does not need to have very popular Lenses to be considered an OLC but rather a passion for Lens creation and strong desire to keep creating into the future.

Rest assured if you haven't heard from us that does not mean you have been rejected. We will look into your application and will be in touch very soon. Thanks again for reaching out!

    Cheers,
    Kaitlyn

  • Hi Kaitlyn,

When you say you look at each lens, is it the two Lens ID's that I sent with the application or do you take a look at ALL my lenses? I've created lenses after sending the application so I hope it's the latter. :)

Will I hear back from you at all when you've checked the application, even if it isn't successful? Hearing feedback on how to improve would help majorly!

    Thanks for your reply,

    Callum

  • Hey Kaitlyn,

I recently I applied to be an official Lens Creator and had a couple of questions. Is there something you would recommend to be an official lens creator? For example, consistency. I am very consistent with my lens and upload very often would that be a good path to be an OLC?

  • Hi Aram,

Consistency is definitely key and we keep that in mind when processing applications.

We also recommend trying out different Lens Studio Templates. You can find guides to using them here, and post any questions you have as you create in this forum. In the forum, you'll see many OLC's and other members of the community helping each other create new and exciting projects! We encourage you to keep creating.

  • Hey Team Snapchat, its been a while since anyone asked about the whole "Applying for Official Lens Creator" process. I've made a few lenses and my recent one just crossed 50k views so I'm considering to apply for being a OLC. Please share the necessities and the process. Thanks!

  • Yes Vincent, I did. But it wasn't clear enough. Am I just supposed to post my lens in the article? or is there a proper way of applying for it?

  • I applied when official lens creators first opened up and heard nothing yet to this day. Since I have had an increased scan and view count I thought I'd apply again the other day.

username: Rebwardlawar please verify me I'm lens creator

Do we get an email notifying us when we get rejected? How long does it usually take? I'm not being impatient, just curious at the process.

What kind of necessities does Snapchat look for when accepting someone as an official lens creator?

    Thanks in advance!
