surface tracking jumping

  • Hey Ashley,

Are you using a template with the models? How did you set up their tracking?

    Cheers,
    Kaitlyn

  • Hi,

    I started from scratch.

The only thing I have is a model and the device tracking enabled on the camera.

The model is not a child of the camera either.

    Thanks

  • The default behavior of Surface Tracking is to reset the objects position to where the surface was tapped. This allows the users to tap to place the object at a new location. Is this what you are seeing?

  • Yeah it seems so.
Is there any way to disable it?
I want to be able to interact with the object while it's static in the world space.

  • Hi Ashley,

Here you can find all of the interactions you can enable/disable with the Manipulation component.

  • In the end I fixed it by using the the touch blocking with :

    "global.touchSystem.touchBlocking = true"

I think adding the manipulation components don't fix this because it's wherever the surface is tapped. I couldn't seem to add a manipulation component to since it's generated by lens studio and it isn't a scene object. I could be missing something though.
It was actually something I thought was wrong with a few of the lenses I'm working on so it was great to find.

Thanks for the quick replies :)
