Bloxx - Interactive face lens

  • Hey Bram,

I love all the interactions with this Lens. It's sometimes hard to tell which expression is causing which reaction though because they're all triggered by face movements.

Out of curiosity, did you consider using other triggers like tap in this Lens? Totally understand if this is just experimental, but I'd love to understand if you had any reasons against using the tap trigger.

  • Hi Kaitlyn,

The idea is that the cube mimics your facial expressions, that's why it reacts to the face movements as triggers. I had a lot of fun showing this lens to people, they immediately started opening their mouths, smiling, kissing, to see if the cube would follow along. I have noticed that the triggers are somewhat sensitive, or sometimes not sensitive enough. It really depends on the structure of the face, facial hair, etc. Some people couldn't get the cube to look angry while others couldn't get it to kiss.

I'm not sure how, but I want to make the whole thing a little smoother. That might be a little too hard though, since the triggers are the JS Events and I have no idea how to tweak those.

I might add the touch trigger too, and maybe even a long-press trigger. Combining every possible trigger into one lens sounds like a awesome challenge too!
