Make Lens available for a specific location and date/time

  • Hey Nuria,

Lens Studio currently does not offer the ability to geofence/ schedule Community Lenses besides you activating and deactivating your Lenses within My Lenses. I'll add scheduling Community Lenses to our list of feature requests though.

In the meantime, as of today Snapchat has added the ability to "Create Your Own Lens" in the US on the web and in Snapchat on iOS (with global and Android availability coming soon) by:

    • Visiting snapchat.com/create on desktop OR visiting “Settings” and selecting “Filters and Lenses” in the Snapchat app (on iOS)
    • Choosing one of our pre-made face Lens templates and adding custom text to personalize for friends and family
    • Entering the time for the event, and the location where you want other Snapchatters to see your creation
    • Checking out 3 hours before your event for your Lens to run on time

Granted, this is for face Lenses, but it's a new capability nevertheless.

    Happy Creating!
    Kaitlyn

  • I can see this answer is from 2018. Is something changed now in 2020? Can a lens have the ability to geofence/schedule?

    Thanks :)

  • Hey Bente,

Unfortunately this is still not a possibility unless you create a Sponsored Lens!

    Best,
