Object is not moveable by dragging in the app?

  • Hi there! I suspect you didn't drag your object to be a child of the WorldObjectController in the template. In the Objects panel, select your custom object. Then, click, hold and drag it to the WorldObjectController (this object is what handles the movement, scaling, grid, etc). Let go and your custom object will now be a child of the WorldObjectController. Pair your lens and you should now be able to move, scale and rotate your object. Hope this helps!

  • How do we do this from scratch without having to reference the template?

  • Hey Tai, to make an object movable, you'll want to do the following things from an empty scene.

    • First, add the World Tracking component to your Camera. This will enable tracking
    • Add your custom object you want to be able to move / scale / rotate
    • Add a Touch component to the object
    • Set the Touch component's mesh visual field to your object's mesh. Set its camera field to your scene's camera
    • Add a Manipulate component to the object
    • Enable Scale, Rotation and Drag (all optional)

Your object will now be movable. Alternatively, you can go into one of the templates and export the WorldObjectController hierarchy (right click -> export in the Objects panel). Then, import it into your empty project. This will give you additional features like the grid that appears on the ground when you move the object.

    Hope that helps!
