Adding from Adobe After Effects to Snap Lens

  • Hey!

Try exporting the animation you've made as a .gif or a .png sequence

A .gif file should work just fine when importing into Lens Studio.

If not, export it as a .png sequence. AE will export your animation frame by frame. (make sure you save it to an extra folder or your output will be spammed with image files ^^)

Then using all of the frames you can create a 2D animation from files.

After choosing the images that your animation consists of you will see this window.

There you can edit the settings to your liking. When you are happy with the result you can press "Ok" and your animation will be ready to use! :)

That's just a quick overview of the features. You can read a more detailed guide here:

    2D Animation

If you have further questions, feel free to reply to my comment and I will respond as soon as I can!

  • Thankyou so much! I've managed to get the image on to snap lens however the movement in the animation hasn't transferred over?

  • Hey!

If the animation starts playing once and then stops, my best guess would be to check if you have "Always Play" enabled. When clicking on the animation in your Resources a window like this should pop up.

If it doesn't move at all, please check if the icon of your animation looks like the bottom (highlighted) icon? If it looks like the top icon, it's just a still image and not an animation.

Have you exported your animation as a .gif file, or as a .png sequence?

If you could answer these questions for me, I can get a clearer picture of what might've gone wrong / what you need to change to get your animation to work. ^^

  • Hey, @...!
I'm sorry for the delay in my reply.

My first guess that you could check out the "Body Mesh" Template in Lens Studio, so the user is actually wearing the shirt. I think that template would give you the closest effect and requires quite a lot of work to figure out/edit so it's just a shirt.

I personally still find more and more new stuff every day using Lens Studio, so if I find something that will help you, I'll let you know! ^^
