When someone makes a topic it gets posted. This topic will be posted to the top of the page. However, if you comment an old topic, it will not bump to the top of the page like it does on most forums. That is pretty common practice when it comes to how forums work.
If you have it with this sort of setup, no one will notice if a topic has been contributed to. It will get lost in the pile.
I suggest allowing topics to be bumped when someone comments on them.
