  • Hi Charlie!

Cinema4D doesn't support animation layers. Fortunately, you can create animation layers inside Lens Studio from a single animation timeline. To do this, use the Animation Clips feature in the Animation Mixer. Check out this guide under "Animation Clips":

Basically, this allows you to create layers from within Lens Studio that you can then reference when you go to playback the animations.

  • That's great, the code has a value for the animation start offset, how would add an end frame for an animation to loop too? so for instance a want an idle animation to be frames 0-50 that loops, then a trigger animation of jump to be from 51-100?

Also, how do I set 2 animation in the animations in the animation mixer? I only have the baselayer? On the tutorial he brings in an animated asset (the elephant in the pool ring) and it has 2 animations in the mixer already

  • Hey Charlie,

If your exporting your animation from C4D you need to have all of your animation in one layer(Single Timeline).

After you import your FBX file into Lens Studio, It automatically imported as a single layer so you need to use the Animation Mixer's Clip view to divide your animation into as many as layers you want.

To start adding layers click on the plus button on Animation Mixers component

Then you can specify the start frame inside the "From" input and also specify the end frame inside the "To" input.

Make sure to set your animation weight to 1.0 and set the blend mode to additive so it not blending between two of your animation layers.
