Snap camera no available camera input
Hello!
After installing Snap Camera I see Snap Camera as available video source, but when I open snap camera I see an error:
"No available camera input"
No other app is using camera at that moment, I can turn on Skype or Zoom and camera works there as expected. Error persists if I run Snap Camera as administrator too (oh yeah, I'm using Windows 10, latest version of Snap Camera too).
I even created a custom lens in Lens Studio which works just fine there with the same webcam.
What else should I try? I'm dying to show off my new lens :)
Hi i have created a tutorial on my website of how to fix this problem
I don't know if this is the answer or not, but it appears to have worked for me and I have no problems (not forced to reboot or anything).
1) Close Snap Camera if it is running, along with any other associated program (such as Zoom)
2) Open your task manager (Ctrl+alt+delete).
3) Once in Task Manager, scroll down to background process and look out for Snap Camera. Click on it and click on "End task''.
4) Go into your "Search" box next to the windows symbol on bottom LHS of your screen and type in "Snap".The program "Snap Camera" should appear at the top of the pop-up listing and be highlighted. (Don't hit <Enter> and don't click on the program, just now go to the next instruction below).
5) Ensuring the "Snap Camera" program is highlighted (use the up and down arrow keys if necessary) locate "Open File Location" in the right-hand panel and click on it.
6) Locate the "Snap Camera" shortcut in the folder which opens. (The folder is probably "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Snap Camera for Zoom" but it may be another folder, depending on whether your setting for "Snap Camera" is to run every time you start your system or not).
6) Click with the RIGHT mouse button on the "Snap Camera" shortcut and select "Properties" at the bottom of the listing which pops up.
7) Click the LEFT mouse button on the "Compatability" tab, and ensure the "Run this program in compatibility mode" checkbox is ticked.
8) Select "Windows 8" under compatibility, then click on the "Apply" button followed by the "OK button (the properties box will then close).
9) Restart your system.
10) When you are ready to use Snap Camera with your other Social software (such as Zoom), make sure you open "Snap Camera" FIRST (ensure that Snap Camera is configured to link to your PC's camera in its settings)
11) After opening Snap Camera, open Zoom (or whatever other software is going to link to Snap Camera). Make sure THAT program has "Snap Camera" set as ITS camera in its settings.
12) You should be all up and going now, and every time you want to use Snap Camera all you have to do (after starting your computer for your session) is start Snap Camera, then start your other program. I assume it does not matter which order the programs are closed.
(It all gets too hard after a while, doesn't it?)
none of these solutions is working for me, with the exception of the ManyCam option. Installing ManyCam does indeed make Snap Camera work. Unfortunately its not a viable option as unless you buy a subscription to the software it puts a ManyCam watermark in the background. So a bit pointless really. Thanks everyone for trying. It seems to be a Lenovo issue, so best not bother with Snap Camera.
Lenovo user here. Nothing worked without inserting a piece of software between the webcam and Snap Camera. I found Multicam unsuitable, so I used SplitCam instead:
Works fine for me, but with some extra latency (expected), and high CPU usage (beware if you're on a laptop).
Richard and Jerry,
Did you try my solution posted today (6th May 2020)?
@Chris: yes, I tried it, and it did not work for me. I tried everything in this thread. The only thing working on my Lenovo Yoga is to feed Snap Camera from something other than the built-in webcam directly. Such as, from the output of another software.
@Chris yes I tried that but it didn't work. So I've newfound a solution. I've gone with the manycam solution. Ive found that if you install an older version of manycam the watermark can be removed. So I think I'll stick with that for now.
If anyone is still having problems I found the solution from this comment section:
IT REALLY WORKS
I found a fix ! All you need to do is:
1) Close Snap Camera, open your task manager (Ctrl+alt+delete).
2) Once in Task Manager, scroll down to background process and look out for snap camera. Click on it and click on "End task''.
3) Now re-open snap camera and you should see your camera again !
Works for me in my HP laptop 15-db0xxx Windows 10
Hope this helps.
Try restarting the device and then open snap camera as the very first thing you open.

Thanks Saad El Bounjimi, I applied the fix and it worked. I have a Dell Latitude, Windows 10 Pro.
I've read everything here, reinstalled snap camera, updated drivers, checked security settings, updated Windows, and nothing worked. My only choice for selecting a camera in snap camera is "integrated camera" which is not an actual camera.
I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM !!!
1. close the snap camera. Close aplications that can use the camera ( Chrome, Zoom,...)
2. Press: control + alt + delete.
3. Chose the last option: Task manager
4. Find Snap Chat and close its task.
5. Now when you can use the snap chat as the camera as well
I use snap camera all days. This solution really works. ;)
what can u do is just check u are using the camera in other site or not then u go to any other site like zoom etc
I fix it by starting snap camera then opening task manager, finding snap camera in the list: right click > end task, then starting snap camera again.
i have found solution. open your device manager. click on services in the top right of the tab. find 'Logi Facecam Service'. right click and stop the service. then restart snap cam. hope it works. make sure it doesnt re open it's self like it did to mine. i cant find it now as it is off but you have to disable it
I did it is working first restart your PC or computer and then uninstall and then install it will work

I'm also experiencing this issue. I can't seem to choose the resolution and it says "No available camera input" on the main screen. The task manager workaround isn't working for me.
I'm going to try with a middleman software between my webcam like ManyCam or SplitCam.
I`ve tried everithing and did not workerd. I`m also a Lenovo user. Please if someone have a solution, help me.
Update the snap camera to a latest version and install it. It works for me.
SAME ISSUE!!! I tried uninstalling but it wont even let me do that!! I am on ASUS VivoBook 15.
I have problem.
The solution that you all provide about ctrl+alt+delete is actually working at the first day
This is the second day after i find out the solution, then the camera is not available again, I've tried the same thing again, but snapcamera is no longer in task manager, what do i do?
It dosent work for me either. Let me try to close and re open the program.
I was using Snap Camera and I was a potato for my classmates cause I was in a break-out room. We were writing a play/story so I decided to not play around. I closed out the app and 1 hour later I came to this error, I tried fixing it but I don't know how.

Same here. After rebooting my laptop, if I start Snap Camera it grabs the camera, then when I start Zoom I can choose Snap Camera as my video connection. I can switch to using the direct camera feed, but then Snap Camera shows this error, and will continues to do so when I try switching back again; the only way to get rid of it is to reboot the laptop again.
Thanks for the information everyone!
Do you mind sharing your information to help us debug this issue? If you can let us know what webcam they are using, and even better if you can share with us the log files!
You can find the log files here:
~/Library/Preferences/Snap/Snap\ Camera
on mac
or
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Snap\Snap Camera
on windows
Thanks in advance!
