So at the start of the day, everything was running smoothly, but at one point I realized that I am unable to change the icon on my lens (from the default one). Tried reinstalling.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Had to restart my pc & lens studio, still don't why did the whole thing happen, but if it happens to you to, just restart your PC. It's probably just Win8 that's messing with the software.
