Thanks for submitting this issue.
Unfortunately, it's likely due to the operating system or hardware you're using – since they don't meet the system requirements for Lens Studio.
Still, we hear you loud and clear, and are logging the issue in case there's ever a workaround we can provide!
Minimum Requirements
Operating System: Windows 10 (64 bit); MacOS 10.11+
Hardware: Minimum of Intel Core i3 2.5Ghz or AMD Phenom II 2.6Ghz with 4 GB RAM; Intel HD Graphics 4000 / Nvidia GeForce 710 / AMD Radeon HD 6450 or better; screen resolution of 1280x768 or higher
We'll try to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thanks for letting us know about it!
Keep an eye out for a followup email from us. We may have a couple more questions for you, or we might already have a solution to offer.
Happy creating!
Jamie,
Thanks for sharing your feedback! Any modern MacBook Pro with discrete GPU and 16 Gb RAM will definitely deliver absolutely comfortable work in Lens Studio, there is no need to go desktop. If you decide to buy desktop, recommendations are the same - discrete GPU and 16 Gb RAM. Photoshop and Lightroom aren't 3D software, that's why they have lower recommended system requirements.
Have you send a crash through embedded mechanism in Lens Studio - after a crash and the app relaunch dialog "Report an Issue" is shown. It might be some specific problem, not just MacBook Air, Lens Studio should work at least stably on all supported configurations. Have you experienced similar problems in older Lens Studio apps?
With best regards,
Pavel Antonenko, Lens Studio TPM
Any device that has a modern processor
I’ve tried to use Lens Studio on a MacBook Pro but it also starts to overheat after a short while, any suggestions?
Jamie,
What exact model of MacBook Pro do you use? By overheat do you mean just temperature of laptop or that software starting to work with some errors?
Thank you,
Pavel Antonenko, Lens Studio TPM
Hi! I’m using a MacBook Pro 13 inch, 2,3 GHz Inten Core i5, 8 GB 2133 MHz.
Jamie, I created a ticket to dig up your problem in details.
Thank you,
Pavel
Ok thank you!
Did you resolve your issu ? Thanks
Lenses for a while now, but I’ve noticed that my computer begins to heat up after a while and Lens Studio quits due to “unknown issues”, and I have to start it again. Is this because I use a laptop (I’m on my MacBook Air) and that kind of software is to much for it.
it looks very cool I am also working on similar type of lens you can check it here on thislink for more details.
