Glow around a face effect

  • Hey Mike,

Other's have asked about glow effects, and have found answers with rim highlighting, fake bloom, and/ or normal maps. Lens Studio currently doesn't support body tracking, but you can always find faces in the rear camera, which can be tracked.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks Kaitlyn. We really needed it to follow the shape of the body and tried to fake it but obviously thats not happening. we are looking at plan 'B' now :)

The current idea is to have an angel front facing effect with wings and glowing halo and then turn into something else when tapped.

I seem to remember there was a previous lens which was also with wings and halo which changed to a devil I think when mouth opened. As I am trying to produce something along those lines, it made me think and, sorry if this is being a bit cheeky, but is there a way to access Snapchat owned source project files to see how these are done? I know you have official templates available but this is something very close to what I am after and I would obviously change the graphics and a few other parameters. It would really help out someone like me who has no coding ability.

    Cheers

    Mike

  • Hello Mike G,

I made a project file that you can easily toggle between groups of object with tap.

You can find the project file here:

    https://storage.googleapis.com/snapchat-lens-assets/f1a09194-f02d-43ed-92b8-62e843179ff0/lensStudio/Forum-Helpers/toggling_arrays_example.zip

In the project file all you need to do is to select the TogglingArrays object in the objects panel. then you need to replace the arrays of objects with your current objects.

Hope this will help you to fix the problems.

    Best,

    Amir.
