Help! Replicating this Distort Lens 🙏

  • Hey Shaun,

You can get pretty close to that effect by starting with the Distort template, scaling up the mouth inset to cover the nose, moving points around on the face stretch, and then tweaking the liquify points a bit. I made a quick example project that should be a good starting point:

Let me know if you need any more help with the specifics!

  • Hey Jacob! Thanks for the response, and the help. I really appreciate it.

So this is essentially what I was able to recreate as well - but it still doesn't seem to have the same effect as the desired lens. I know this is a pretty ridiculous problem to be having, but now I'm determined to get it right.

The lens I've been trying to achieve has a smaller / proportional mouth. It's almost like the whole middle section of the face-map is being deleted and the mouth is being brought up to where the nose is. Check it out in action:

When I try cover up the nose with a Mouth Face Inset it makes the mouth huge. It's driving me nuts. :)

  • Sorry to hear that Shaun! For the nose removal, our internal team is using a slightly different tool to do that effect. Currently, Lens Studio doesn't offer that ability, but I'm putting in a feature request so it will hopefully be available in a future version. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with! Maybe you can do a similar effect, even if it's not quite as good.

  • Ah bummer.

Do you think there’s a chance to make it available to grab elsewhere? I don’t even see it in the lens creator.
