Can I specify which camera to use by default?

  • Hey rhondablogs,

Congrats on your first Lens and I love that you have new ideas for Lenses already bubbling up. Unfortunately Lens Studio currently only offers the ability for Lenses to open on the rear camera, but thanks for letting us know that this is something you'd like to change - I'll add it to our list of feature requests!

    Thanks,
    Kaitlyn

  • Now that we can include both front facing and back facing cameras, is there a way to set which camera is used by default?

  • Hi Deb,

When you configure the project info, change the "Lens Works On" dropdown to set which camera needs to be open in Snapchat for the user to see the Lens in your carousel. Here you can set if you want your Lens to appear on the Front Camera (for Face Lenses), Rear Camera (for World Lenses) or Both Cameras (for Face and World experiences).

When you unlock a Lens, the camera will switch automatically to the selected camera and default to Face if Both Cameras is selected.

Let me know if you have any other questions about this.

    Cheers,
    Kaitlyn
