To have an object "Disappear" into the ground, you can utilize a mesh with an Occluder material on it.
Create a new Occluder material by going to Add New -> Materials -> Occluder. Then assign it to a Box mesh. Make this box level with the ground. Now, when you move your object through it, you'll see that it disappears into the ground in the Preview panel.
